Queens High School for the Sciences (QHSS) is one of the specialized high schools many of us here know well. Unfortunately, the school has been struggling for years with a lack of proper facilities — no gym, no cafeteria, and limited space even though it’s one of NYC’s top-performing schools. Students are literally forced to eat lunch in hallways and don’t have the same opportunities as their peers at other specialized high schools.
Parents and students have launched a campaign to push the DOE and elected officials to finally address these inequities. We’re asking for your support in amplifying our voices by sharing and engaging with the hashtag: #QHSSDeservesBetter on Twitter/X.
This isn’t just about one school — it’s about making sure that every specialized high school gets the resources students deserve. If you can, please repost, retweet, and help spread the word. The more visibility we get, the harder it will be for decision-makers to ignore.
Thanks for helping us stand up for QHSS students. 💙
