I ran side-by-side comparisons using the exact same prompts I used with version 2.5. Where I used to get 35-40 pages of detailed analysis, v3 now averages just 16 pages. It misses crucial details, and the number of URLs analyzed keeps fluctuating randomly during research. When I attach source files (~150K tokens measured in AI Studio), it only processes them partially. It finds chapter headings but completely misses the actual content I'm asking for, even though it's right there. I even tried feeding it the same prompt with 4 different file formats of the same source: PDF, MD, DOCX, TXT. Still can't find what I'm asking for.
Completely disappointing! Please bring back Deep Research on Gemini 2.5 Pro.
