Why are “regional prices” in Colombia now MORE expensive than the international price?

Lately I’ve noticed something that makes zero sense: regional pricing in Colombia is now more expensive than the normal international price.

If they’re not going to make games cheaper for our economy, fine… but at least make them cost the same as in the US. Instead, they end up more expensive here.

Quick examples:
Black Ops 7 is around 90 dollars here.
Hyrule Warriors is almost 95.
The deluxe edition of Sparking Zero goes up to 110.
We’ve even had games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage or some PlayStation exclusives costing more here than their base price abroad.

And when you compare that to what it means for someone in Colombia, it’s ridiculous.
The average salary here is about 1.8 million COP, and the minimum is 1.3M. Buying a 90 dollar game means paying around 370,000 COP, which is like 25 percent of the average salary and over 30 percent of the minimum.

Meanwhile, in the US people paying 70 dollars there is around what 3%-5% percent of their monthly income?

So why is regional pricing ending up more expensive than the global price?
Does anyone know what’s going on or why they’re doing this?
