– 21 Jump Street 3 (where they tie-in to Men in Black series): While it sounds so crazy and way off, remember how they did both a remake of an old series and sequel that are both considered great films, so there is also the chance that the filmmakers would've also struck gold again.
– Jodorowsky's Dune: From all the concept art and the documentary, many say that this would've been a dud and really bad. However, considering the talent of Alejandro Jodorowsky, history of risky films that ended up successful, how many talented artists were behind it, and the possibility of improvising with a surprisinhly small budget for the scale of his vision, it might've still sucked as an adaptation but could've been a masterpiece in sci-fi arthouse cinema
– A Topiary (and to an extent The Modern Ocean): While the scripts have been released and are really weird and cryptic, had Shane Carruth obtained the funding to these films, he could've used his filmmaking process that we don't see, and with the proper actors it could've been a much more interesting film than what our imaginations can give us.
What are some films that, while unmade/unfinished, are hard to imagine because it would've been a 50/50 chance of being a masterpiece or a failure?
