By skyforbes It has been a minute since I've seen such a movie so brutal and disturbing that left my blood boiling, and me a sobbing wreck by the end of it. I love the movie for what it achieved. Great writing. Amazing performances from everyone involved, including Sally Hawkins. But it is not a pleasurable viewing experience. It hates you, and is unapologetic for how much it tortures you psychologically. On HBO Max right now for anyone that hasn't seen it, but please be warned: if you cannot stomach child abuse or movies with grief in them like this, it isn't for you. 10/10 film…but I am most likely never putting myself through it again!
