I’m trying to get Gemini to copy clothing from reference images, but it keeps copying other things too.

Here was my prompt:

Full-body character portrait of a fantasy pirate standing facing the viewer with her legs apart, grinning widely and holding a gun in each hand. She has long, thick brown hair swept over to her right side in a single heavy braid that hangs over her shoulder, with a few small gold rings and bands threaded through the braid.

Use the facial structure from the first reference image. Maintain same pose, outfit, style, and expression style as described. Her eyes have dark brown irises. She has large gold hoop earrings visible on both ears and dark tan skin.

Her attire will be an exact copy of the clothing and jewelry from the second image.

She stands upright, feet shoulder-width apart, weight balanced evenly, body facing forward. Her legs are straight but relaxed, with one hip slightly shifted to create a subtle S-curve in the posture. She has her arms, elbows bent, each hand gripping a scimitar exactly like the one from the third reference image resting on her shoulders.

Use the first reference image for the final aspect ratio. Strong, clean black outlines (linework) typical of comic books or highly rendered illustration. Smooth, slightly painterly rendering with soft cell-shading. Saturated, relatively realistic palette with a focus on high contrast. Diffuse, studio-like lighting, creating minimal but well-defined shadows, highlighting the figure. High-quality, modern digital illustration/concept art, reminiscent of character designs for action video games or highly polished comic covers.
