I'm not really sure if it's just me, but the last three or so trailers/advertisements I've happened to come across on YouTube all have basically been huge nothing burgers when it came to the contents of the movie. There's this one with Emma Stone in it, this "Landman" one, and one with Julia Roberts (albeit it was a poster in the subway, but all it was was just the faces of the actors in it).
Is the prime appeal of movies not about plot anymore and just a star-studded cast and mildly interesting action sequences? I'm not a big film nerd or enthusiast, just a casual fan, but maybe I'm missing something here.
