What are some classic movies that everyone should see

I saw a post over on instagram that was a basic guild to classic movies and it got me thinking about this question: what are some classic moves that everyone should see?

I’m thinking the 1930s-mid 1980s for this list. I’ve got some of the obvious ones like The Wizard of Oz, On the Waterfront and Casablanca, but I’m sure there’s others that I’m missing and can’t think of. Of course I’m gonna take from said list too, but what are some others that are considered essentials for anyone to see.
