Quick Summary:
You can now generate a link to add friends into a chat (up to 20 people). It basically turns the thread into a multiplayer workspace.
How to use it (Step by Step Guide):
1. Open a new chat.
2. Click the "+" icon or "Invite" button in the top right.
3. Send the link to your friends.
The "Privacy" Question (I checked the docs):
I was worried about my data/memory leaking to the group, so I dug through the help page:
* No Memory Leaks: The group chat does NOT see your personal "Memory" or custom instructions. It starts fresh.
* No History Leaks: Adding someone creates a COPY of the chat. Your original private thread stays private in your sidebar.
Why use it?
Besides coding/working, I assume OpenAI is just trying to stop us from screenshotting chats and sending them to friends. Now you can just drag them in to roast the AI together.
I can already see the chaos of adding ChatGPT to a family group chat to settle an argument.
Are you actually going to use this for productivity or just to roast your friends?
