A Beautiful Mind (2002) deserves a recut

I just rewatched this for the first time in at least a decade and really enjoyed it. Then I decided to read some more recent opinions on it and I see it's really divisive. I understand the hate, I saw someone say that it has aged weirdly and I would say that's accurate. The difference then and now is that it came during the era of Mission Impossible and Pierce Brosnan James Bond, realism/immersion had the standard of a B movie today.

A Beautiful Mind is a good rewatch if you liked it the first time but I can see why someone wouldn't like it today. It's not a movie that drops little hints at a reveal, the spy stuff is straight up nonsensical until the reveal. I think it deserves a modern recut that makes it clear from the beginning about the spy stuff but leaves you guessing about everything else. His friends? His wife? His job? His discovery? The reveal can be that its all real except his roommate.
