I’m not very technically knowledgeable in talking about game performance, but I believe I’ve finally reached a point where I can recognize the difference between games with 60fps vs. 30fps, to the point where 30fps may be reason enough for me to not stick with a game for long.
Now I’m a bit confused between 30fps games and would like to understand the difference I’m missing.
For example, when I recently played 30FPS games like Bloodborne, Darksiders 3, or Shadows of Mordor, I can absolutely feel a little clunkiness or choppiness when moving the camera and fighting in general. It’s not unbearable and I get used to it, but it’s noticeable, and I can understand why people want a PS5 patch.
However, I understand GTAV (PS4 version, not the PS5 upgrade) on PS5 still runs on 30fps, so I was worried at first. In comparison to the above games, though, it feels quite smooth to move the camera and carry out action in general. For the record, I also did not feel any clunkiness with games such as Darksiders Genesis or Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, though I understand the top down view / racing genre may be differences as well.
Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
