If there were any justice in this world Chiwetel Ejiofor would be one of the biggest movie stars alive.

I just saw the David Mamet movie Redbelt. I liked it enough, though I'd hardly call it a masterpiece, but Ejiofor in the lead was just so natural and charismatic I was blown away. I know he's had a very respectable career, and it seems like every couple of years he has a role – most famously 12 Years a Slave – that makes me think he's just about to break out into the popular consciousness, but it just never seems to happen.
