However, there are many cases where the initial trilogy is beloved, but the fourth film was a step too far. This could either be because it was unnecessary, bad, or retroactively ruined the characters and story. Some examples include Indiana Jones, Toy Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, (arguably) Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, etc. What other series would you include in this category?
