Why won’t Hollywood make some good quality Christmas movies

I’m not talking about the crappy Hallmark and Netflix b-movies and I know they still make some more adult oriented chrisrmas movies like The Holdovers or Happiest Season.

I‘m talking proper classic watch with the family, quote every year bonafide Christmas Classics like It’s A Wonderful Life, Miracle On 34th Street, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Elf, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Carol, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, etc.

now a days we get subversive christmas movies like Violent Night or wanna be IP movies like Red One or cynical self aware movies like Spirited.

i know the mid budget comedy and drama is struggling at the box office but surely there’s a market around the holidays for a good Christmas movie around the holidays.

I’m surprised no successful filmmakers use there creative freedom to make one, surely they grew up with Christmas classics and be interested in making one of there own.

so what do you think. What are some reasons why they don’t make Christmas movies for theatres and how can it be fixed
