I'm so excited to finally share my Lurtz cosplay from The Lord of the Rings with you all. This project has been a massive undertaking, and I'm incredibly proud of how it turned out.
My name is Alyona Bazhenova, and as a female cosplayer, tackling a character like Lurtz presented some unique challenges. The first step was actually creating a convincing male physique for the costume itself, which was a whole project in its own right! After that, I could finally dive into bringing Lurtz to life.
Everything you see in these photos – the intricate silicone prosthetics for the face and body, the weapons, the armor, and even the teeth – is entirely my own work. It was a true labor of love, and I learned so much throughout the process.
