By skyforbes I was reading the Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH and the book is a fantasy novel about a mama Rat going on a fantasy adventure to save her children. You've probably seen the Don Bluth film The Secret of NIMH. It made me wonder– are there more fantasy (or even just action or adventure) movies where the main character is a mom? I'm more looking for what I'll call "human" moms– not literally, since the mom in NIMH is a rat… But "human" in the sense that she's not some badass, gun toting tough girl ready to go to war who just so happens to have a child. Think less Sarah Connor and more of that pregnant cop in Fargo.
I'd actually genuinely love to read or watch a movie about a mom, like a Hobbit or something, going on an adventure. It's always some young guy but I'm picking like a mid forties mom picking berries in the woods but wielding a sword "just in case"
And yeah I know this is the movie subreddit but if there are some book nerds here I'll take a book recommendation too!
