I was in the process of modifying the power modes so that the CPU of my school laptop (it's not a racing beast…) runs as often as possible at its maximum speed, i.e. ~3.30Ghz. And then I realized that when the processor usage is low, the CPU runs well at its maximum speed, but as soon as its usage percentage increases, its speed drops to 2.50Ghz.
Is there an explanation for this?
