By skyforbes I’m in a difficult situation and I want to know if anyone has gone through something similar:
I’m still logged into my ChatGPT account on one device (a college PC), but I’ve completely lost access to the email address and the phone number that were originally linked to the account.
I didn’t sign up using Google/Apple — I used “continue with email.”
Now, I can’t reset the password or change the email because the verification link goes to an inbox I can’t access anymore.
Right now, I’m trying to understand:
- If you’re still logged in on one device, is there any official or realistic way to keep the account alive?
- Or is it completely locked to the original email, with no way to transfer it?
- Has anyone successfully changed their email or recovered an account without access to the old inbox?
- Once the session logs out, is the account basically gone forever?
Any advice or experience would help.
