By skyforbes I’ve been working on ricing my Linux setup, which involves uploading code, tweaking scripts, and naturally, frequent reboots. When I come back to the "normal" web chat after a reboot:
Gemini acts weird and forgets everything we just discussed (e.g., claiming I never sent the autostart script).
It tries to hallucinate code into the wrong files because it lost the directory structure I provided.
When I scroll up, the chat history is physically cut off, the previous prompts and uploaded files are just gone.
It feels like the "hard reset" of my browser/computer is messing with the web session. Is this a known bug, or is Google aggressively cutting off chats to save compute on context retention?
Everyone is hyping the new versions, but I’m finding this "amnesia" pretty frustrating. It feels like my AI memory got wiped.
