Would this solve a real pain point? I built a Chrome extension that fixes long ChatGPT threads, collapses old messages, boosts speed, and adds export / auto-summaries. Worth polishing into a full product?

Hey everyone,

After getting sick of ChatGPT slowing down or freezing during long conversations, I built a small Chrome extension for myself… and I’m trying to figure out if this is something others actually want before I take it further.

Here’s what it does right now:

✓ Injects a clean floating toolbar inside ChatGPT
With message count, FPS indicator, and a “dock anywhere” toggle.

✓ Collapse old messages instantly
Keeps the last X messages visible (configurable) and hides the rest so the page stops lagging.

✓ “Show 50” / “Hard Cut” buttons
Reveal older chunks on demand, or aggressively remove old nodes when chats are 200+ messages.

✓ Auto-Summarize (optional)
Summarizes hidden parts of the conversation using your own summary length rules.

✓ Export conversation to text
Simple and reliable export instead of ChatGPT’s broken default.

✓ Prompt Enhancer
One-click tool that rewrites your message to be clearer/cleaner before sending.

Basically, it turns ChatGPT into a smoother, more professional workspace instead of a giant scrolling wall.

Why I’m posting:

Before I finish polishing the product and adding proper licensing, I want to know:

  • Do you personally feel the pain of long ChatGPT threads slowing down?
  • Would a tool like this improve your workflow?
  • Which features matter most?
  • What’s missing?
  • Would you pay for a “Pro” tier if it saved you time daily?

I’m not selling anything yet just validating if this is genuinely useful beyond my own use-case.

Thanks in advance.
