What is your favorite era of Hollywood? For me it has to be 1990 – 2010, 20 years of absolute CINEMA!

There's something extra special about movies that were made in that time era in Hollywood, IDK what it is, but it felt like they were optimistic about life, love, and happiness, and the movies were too cheerful, too beautiful, and very beautifully written. Even the actors felt more unique in character and physique, I'm sad that today they all look the same with botox and plastic surgeries. It's also the time where they started slowly ditching film and transitioning into digital cameras, and there's something about the image quality from that time, the film grain makes every frame looks like an oil painting, and thankfully nowadays I get to enjoy them in 4k on my 1440p 27' IPS panel monitor, and it's such an experience <3

Yesterday I watched Rush Hour 1998, last time I watched this movie was when I was a kid, literally younger than 10 years old! I never watched it as an adult, and I couldn't stop laughing at Chris Tucker's hyper-animated personality and Jackie Chan calling that black guy at the bar the N word because his English sucks 😀

Then I watched The Mummy from the same year, and the whole movie was such a warm love letter to Egypt and its beautiful heritage. I could name a dozen movie from that era, and they all SLAP. I don't know what happened from the 2010s onwards, it just feels like movies became less and less original, actors less and less passionate, and the whole thing turned into a money-making machine.
