I have a friend who is just now is deciding to change his career from construction to become a coder, how do I let him know he might be in for a rude awakening?

My friend is a bright guy but not very up to date with AI tools. I've tried to show him how I, as non-coder, am able to use LLMs to generate software, iPhone apps, etc and even have released these to the public and they work great. I still think there is a place for coders in this world but it's not a safe industry to pivot to in your mid-30s unless you are focused on development and will strongly utilize AI.

I've shared with him how I used the LLMs and how powerful they are but he is insisting that he wants to get a firm grasp of all the main languages first before he works with LLMs. I'm NOT saying this is a bad plan but only if the person is fully aware of how powerful these tools are already and know that even if they show up to a job interview passably fluent in these languages, if a programmer/developer isn't massively leveraged with AI, they will be left behind.
