Totally underrated movie. The screenplay plays out like a novel. I probably don’t have the film language to express it, but as someone who reads a lot, I was very impressed. Apparently the screenwriter is also a professionally trained novelist, so I guess that helps. The themes it explores, the way it weaves them all together. The ensemble cast and how they each have their own little stories happening that blend into the main narrative. Not sure how often it’s been said, but there’s a lot of complexity in the film that I still haven’t been able to figure out so many years later. Just interested to hear what other people have to say. I won’t rant on about it cause I’m sure film oriented people have better insights into it, but I really place it at the top of my list in many regards and hope it gets mainstream recognition eventually.
