A game series you’re surprised is dead?

For me its Twisted Metal, followed by Dino Crisis, and too a much lesser extent Killer Instinct.

For the longest time Legacy of Kain topped this list, then Square Enix sold the rights in 2022, and we got two remastered in the past year. But like, that series never had a reason to go away — it sold like Hot Cakes and then in 2003 Crystal Dynamics were just like “eh, we’re over this”

Edit: I don’t know if it’s because I highlighted it in my opening post, but Twisted Metal is by far and away the most mentioned game In the comments.
