Foremost I want to share my great sense of sorrow about the anti-Semitic terrorist attack in the UK yesterday. It is a very sad decline for a country that has been a home for so many generations of Jewish families since the 1650s, and the community has made such important contributions in public life and so many other fields. It is the land of my birth, and my own family still live there, so it is my hope that the security situation is rectified – as rapidly as possible and by doing whatever it takes.
As a British person who grew up in Ireland during "The Troubles" I find terrorism abhorrent. I know Gaza has been a protracted war but it remains imperative that IDF find the remaining Hamas members and bring about their rightful destruction, leaving those who seek violence in no doubt that they shall find what they sought and perish from the earth by it. My enduring hope is that those currently serving IDF operations will return safely to their families soon along with those taken as hostages.
Finally I'm a citizen of a few countries including the UK, Australia and New Zealand. It has not escaped my attention that left wing governments in the UK and Australia indulged the pro-Palestinian lobby, and have suffered the blight of anti-Semitism since, while New Zealand took a more balanced stance and has endured no such issues to my knowledge. It is of New Zealand I am most proud, the other land of milk and honey of course, and it is they who should serve as an example of how to conduct international affairs.
We know, in our hearts, that a world which permits violence and terrorism will suffer, a world that embraces order and diplomacy will thrive.
God Speed Israel to a swift and decisive victory. 🇮🇱🇳🇿🇦🇺🇬🇧
