Adult dependent eligibility questions

Hi, I'm in South Carolina. My daughter, who lives with me and my husband, will turn 26 this November and will get kicked off my health insurance through my job. She has multiple health issues and is being treated for ongoing mental health issues but no particular diagnosis that would qualify her for disability (we already checked with a lawyer).

She has never had a job and is entirely financially dependent on me. (Please no advice about her becoming more independent – it's a process we are working on and I'm not about to toss her to the wolves in this economy). So she has zero income but no expenses either. Is that a problem?

Also, I've heard now there are work requirements for Medicaid (edited, meant to say Medicaid) but everyone I know looking for a job, even if they have lots of skills and experience, complains there are no jobs available. Plus she is experiencing physical pain, non-24 sleep disorder, and social anxiety so alteady that limits what she could do. So would applying for Medicaid be a waste of time?

Maybe she should just get a marketplace plan? I also worry about changes to that and whether I'd end up paying more than I'm already paying since my employer doesn't cover dependents, they just take her part out of my paycheck to pay for it. I wish she was turning 26 two years ago!
