An another exciting book I have read is called the Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller. It is about a single twenty four hour period that weaved flashbacks that span fifty years of the main character’s life. The core and the main plot is about Elle Bishop, a mother of three kids, fifty years old that wakes up at the paper palace, a rustic summer home on Cape Cod. The morning after that she had a passionate clandestine encounter with her oldest friend Jonas. Over the course of the next day, she is forced to make a hard and difficult decision between the life she built with her beloved husband Peter or her childhood friend Jonas. Elle has these flashbacks including the story of her family and the deep bond she shares with Jonas, and a tragic, traumatic event from their shared past that altered their course of life. In this novel, the themes that are explored are desire, betrayal, and the long lasting childhood trauma and abuse.
