Announcing TGA GOTY Nominees before the show ruins the suspense of most of the awards

Bit of feedback for the TGA crew. Preannouncing the Game of the Year nominees ruins a lot of the excitement and makes winners predictable and boring.

For example. the nominees for Best Family Game were:

Donkey Kong Bananza

Lego Party!

Lego Voyagers

Mario Kart World

Sonic Racing Crossworlds

Split Fiction

Of all of these the only game here nominated for Game of the Year is Donkey Kong Bananza. Clearly if any of these were better than or equal to that game they would be nominated for Game of the Year but they aren't. Predictably Donkey Kong wins.

I think the TGAs would be better off not announcing GOTY nominees. Instead, make winning a category like Best Family Game, Best RPG, or Best Action Game automatically nominate that game for Game of the Year.

We'd then get a Game of the Year category with diverse titles in unique categories, and the show would evolve as we watch it. Last night was predictable for almost every award during the main show.
