Not necessarily asking for "so bad it's good" performances here. I think we all enjoy a good hammy scenery chew. But I'm more curious about performances you think are genuinely good even if the accent work isn't quite right.
Asking because of Scorsese's Cape Fear. Yeah, De Niro's drawl is a bit yeehaw at times, I'm not sure he pulled it all the way off. But I also don't care. His Max Cady is just that magnetic and fierce.
More recently, I loved the shit out of GDT's Frankenstein and Oscar Isaac's performance in it. If I really had to pull out my score card I might say he's being British slightly outside of his range at times, but he's so utterly committed, vile and mercurial that I'm here for every moment of it anyway. It's the kind of acting I wish we got more of in Hollywood.
