Arc Raiders makes me feel out of touch.

I bought Arc Raiders as my first extraction game, because I wanted to give the genre a try, and a lot of people have been saying it's arguably the most accessible game in the genre, plus it's been gaining tons of popularity and breaking it's concurrent player records constantly, so I figured this game had to basically be some sort of gaming phenomenon.

But after playing for honestly quite a few hours. I don't really get it?

I've extracted maybe 40 times total now, and I think I've found literally one one interesting thing the entire time, a weapon blueprint. But it was a blueprint that requires a bunch of high level materials I've yet to even see. So it's basically useless. But then I thought to myself, why would I even waste my time building this weapon when someone is just going to hide around a corner, drop me in 2 seconds, and take it?

And this ultimately made me realize, I just don't understand the appeal of this gameplay loop. You spend hours searching containers for rubber and metal, etc, and for what exactly? These games feel like when you buy a collectible knowing that if you remove it from its box it loses all its value, so it's better to just keep it on a shelf somewhere and admire its existence.

I personally don't really get the feeling of "loot anxiety" for me it's just like "oh I died, and lost that gun I wasted materials on, that's kinda lame, guess I'll just use the free crappy gun again."

Like is that supposed to the appeal? The adrenaline rush youre supposed to get because you might lose something you spent hours crafting? I don't really get it I guess.
