Are people being told to hate AI?!

I feel like the general population is heavily anti-AI!
Being heavily immersed in my work and a self-echoing web community that's growing at a rapid pace. I sometimes lose touch of what the average person thinks about current events.

Generally, most people will have the same list of issues to bring up: 'kills creativity', 'kills jobs', 'making people dumb'….
However, it's clear to me that AI will empower the rational, who would rationally want to empower everyone else into becoming rational.

Are people being told to hate AI because it is shifting the balances of power, and those who gain power by feeding on the irrational do not want to lose their power?!

Edit: Why do people refuse to learn how to incorporate technology into culture? This falls at the hand of experts in policy, psychology, and tech! Really, typically a combination you'd find within the Military!
