For the record, I’m pretty sure this happens because I have ADHD, lol. The other day, some guy told me that em dashes were an obvious sign of AI because “you can’t even type them on a keyboard” I said “Alt + 0151, you’re welcome.” Some people really live like frogs at the bottom of a well, thinking the sky’s just a tiny circle.
I even intentionally use triplets and the not only… but also (but with inversion version: Not only is he cocky, but also painfully proud of it). Sometimes I toss in over-the-top phrases just to trigger people: “in the grand tapestry of existence” “for what it’s worth” “henceforth, I digress” and… "just say the word"
And when someone asks, “Is this AI?” I just say, “Oh, you must’ve used ChatGPT a bit too much if you can’t tell the difference between articulate writing and a language model. Remember where AI learned to write in the first place?”
