Basketful of Heads Comic Review. Summary

Summary

June Branch goes to meet her boyfriend, Liam, on Brody Island during the last day of his summer job as a deputy. The couple go to the chief’s house for dinner but become stranded when a massive storm hits the island. While the chief is out helping the town, some escaped convicts invade the house, and June hides while Liam deals with them. When she emerges, Liam is gone, and one of the convicts stayed behind in case she turned up.

June grabs an antique axe from the chief’s collection of Norse artifacts and manages to chop the convict’s head off, but, incredibly, he doesn’t die. June coxes the disembodied head to reveal that there’s a massive conspiracy on the island, one that could prove fatal to Liam.

Armed with the magic axe and a basket for the talking head, June sets off to find Liam. What she uncovers shakes her to her core, and she just might fill up her basket before the night’s over.

My Thoughts

Basketful of Heads is an amazing horror story. I mean, just the image of a young woman holding an axe and a basket full of decapitated heads pretty much tells you all you need to know. The characters and the plot were well written, and there were a few twists before the end. And lots of decapitations. Definitely worth a read for all the horror fans out there.

My Rating: 4/5
