Cringe! I know. Hear me out
Ideas do NOT change the world.
This is one of the deceptive quotes that feels true but isn’t. It’s not like ideas are worth nothing. No, they are worth something. But they are not the change agents many people think they are.
Ideas don’t change the world — people with influence do.
People in good positions to effect change are those who change the world. The main ingredient of change is people, not ideas.
People with stupid ideas have changed the world for the worse. Meanwhile, people with better ideas (but without any influence) have died without making any dent.
People change the world.
And if you want to be one of the people who will change the world for the better, you have to understand that it won’t be your idea. You have to step up to the position of influence.
And it begins with a step as simple as going all-in on social media.
Your startup idea must take a backseat to “you coming out to take a position of influence”. The first step to getting your ideas heard is embracing the fact that you have to be in a position of influence.
