By skyforbes Prepare for a grouchy old man rant. I just got back into console gaming after being out of the loop for about 15 years. The last time I played a lot of online multiplayer was around the days of Halo 3 and CoD: Modern Warfare 2 (which apparently now has a reboot too?). I bought a PS5 a year ago and have been struggling to land on a FPS to call home. I was a pretty dedicated Halo player, and nothing has really scratched that itch for me since.
I just picked up BF6, thinking, “hey, maybe this is the closest I’ll get to a familiar experience”. Just got everything installed, and there’s a FTP battle royale mode, and a paid battle pass? What the fuck did I just spend $70 for?
I’m hopeful that once I play the game for awhile I’ll enjoy it, but man, this battle pass crap has ruined shooters. I just want competitive matchmaking. I don’t even care about cosmetics. They charge a subscription on top of box retail? This shit should be illegal.
