Book Review: Heavenly Bodies. A beautiful constellation of romance…

A beautiful constellation of romance and chaos — sometimes shining, sometimes collapsing under its own gravity.

A Beautiful Romance

I ended up giving Heavenly Bodies by Imani Erriu a solid 3.75 stars.

It’s a good book — fun, engaging, occasionally laugh-out-loud, and built on a celestial aesthetic that is honestly beautiful.

Enzo is incredibly lovable: very Rhys-coated (you know the type), beautiful, cocky in a charming way, and shamelessly flirty. Elara is fierce, stubborn, and sharp-tongued, with banter vicious enough to make you snort. Their dynamic is genuinely delightful — the kind of romance that makes you grin through pages and root for them almost immediately.

The writing itself is gorgeous. Erriu’s descriptive style is lush, vivid, and atmospheric, with celestial imagery that sometimes feels like stargazing from the page. When the book leans into beauty, it delivers.

Where It Stumbled for Me

This world has the makings of something great — a strong premise, interesting magical rules, and big mythological scaffolding. But the execution is… messy.

The worldbuilding often feels overcrowded and disorganized:
Too many Gods, too many Stars, too many Kings, too many kingdoms, each with 27 motivations, legacies, and tragedies. Instead of feeling rich, it starts to feel tangled.
