Book Two from the Amaryllis Trilogy series. Sequel of Obsessed in silence.
Before diving into this book, I had shared my thoughts on the first of this series – Obsessed in Silence. If you are curious to know, check my blog for that review.
Trigger warning: This book contains themes of obsession, emotional distress, possession, and physcological abuse.
Possessed in Shadows, this book is an emotional roller coaster. The same fire from the first book continues, but with more consequences. Tension is doubled with sharper and intense plots. Revenge is brutal. The character development in the story is great. The chaos unlimited. The past connections is unforgettable. And the obsession level of him is an absolute chef’s kiss.
The tables have turned. In book one Ranvi was in control, she blackmailed him, turned his life into chaos. But in book two, Aaran claims it back. The devil who never lost is now in his utmost power.
As the pages turn, a turn in the story is seen. I even had to take a pause to recover, because the plots and punishment level were intense for me.
This book clearly shows and sets a best example where villains are not born, they are created. Life is unfair , and sometimes you need to take the hold of it, take the reins in your hands and walk towards the destruction. You clearly can understand the characters. The characters are well written. The fine line between black and white blurs into grey.
The book ended with a little tease of what’s next. A classic cliffhanger. So many questions unanswered, so many secrets yet to be revealed.
All of this builds an anticipation for the final showdown in book three – Devoured in flames.
When all the puzzle pieces finally come together to form the complete picture.
Can’t wait to know what fate awaits Aaran and his ocean.
PS: This book can’t be read as standalone. You will need to read Obsessed in silence to fully involve in this story
