Before we dive into the review for this extreme horror double feature, allow me to take a moment to introduce the newest editor here at the Horror Book Review. Please say hello and give a follow to

. She is a voracious reader of horror, as well as a kickass PA, who helped me sell a ton of my books. She generally posts her reviews over on Substack, so we are lucky to have her here. Her first review is below, but I believe there will be many more to come.

Essig is back with a Spooky Splatter Double. I thought the first book in this series, Disco Rice, was vile, but this one might take the lead. I really thought with the first book it couldn’t get any more disturbing than this, but after reading When the Fall Consumes, I’m not so sure.

The first book in this double was wicked and full of gore, but that second story… that one is the standout for me. I was not expecting the absolute horror and brutality that came from that story. It goes from zero to one hundred quickly.

Not for the faint of heart at all, but if you’re in the mood for something gory and repulsive, this book hits all the marks.
