By skyforbes My wife and I are a two person household that was denied MediCal. Our only source of income is UI at 450/week (only one of us qualifies).
The Medi-Cal office found information about my retirement and investments accounts somehow and asked me to send them documents. Then, they counted stuff like unrealized gains and a $5000 TRANSFER between Robinhood savings and my checkings as income. I tried to explain this to the case worker but she was stubborn. I applied for CoveredCA and was denied for that as well because my income is below the threshold, and they sent the information to MediCal.
We both have chronic issues and now the system is saying we're not eligible for anything. I don't know what to do. I don't want to blindly send them my documents again because I feel they might misinterpret them. What should I try and do differently once I get a MediCal call or communication.
