Surprised myself today finding a new use case for chatgpt. I'm converting an old laptop with a discreet GPU into a rackmount server for ollama. Had to rip off noisy and weak 40mm snail fans and decided to 3D print an air duct and funnel for larger Noctuas. Started to design in Blender, which I detest for CAD work, but then decided to try asking GPT for a parametric model. It worked very nicely, 3 iterations of prompts produced a viable OpenSCAD code doing exactly what I needed, leaving me the sole task to fine-tune mounting hole locations and pick thickness and funnel height. I think CAD work in GPT is a hidden gem.
