How I Leverage ChatGPT In My Mathematics Teaching
Since I started using ChatGPT halfway through the 2022 school year, I’ve been finding new ways to leverage it to make my teaching more efficient and effective. In this article, I’ll share one of the most practical ways I’ve been using it. Let me know in the comments if you have other ways that I can adopt!
A bit of background before we jump in. For most of my career I have taught all levels of geometry and all levels of precalculus. Plus I tutor students on most math subjects through AB AP Calculus. I have had the most success using ChatGPT with subjects other than geometry. ChatGPT still struggles with geometric figures. But for most of the other classes it is great.
Caution! Make sure you check answers and solutions carefully as ChatGPT does not always get the answers correct. It is SO much better than it used to be, but it still does make mistakes.
