Has anyone else been experiencing this? For the past few days, I've been using ChatGPT to help me find research papers, and it keeps giving me citations that sound incredibly relevant, the titles are exactly what I'm looking for.
The problem? When I actually search for these papers on http://arxiv.org or Google Scholar or anywhere else, they simply don't exist. The authors, journals, years it's all made up, but so convincing that I've wasted hours tracking them down.
I'm not sure if this is a recent issue or if I just started noticing it, but it's becoming a real problem for my work. The hallucinated papers are so on-point that it's actually worse than getting no results at all.
Is this happening to anyone else?
