ChatGPT remember stuff about you seemed like such a good idea at first but now it's causing problems. I work on many different projects and ask ChatGPT to help out in different aspects of these projects. But lately ChatGPT is confusing projects, so it will shape an answer for a technical project around an outdoor project I'm also working even though it has nothing to do with it. And it's overly fixated on bizarre minutiae of a project, repeatedly referencing it even when out of context.
Ok, sure, it's asking a lot for ChatGPT to keep straight all the stuff I'm doing and it's just trying to be helpful. But now, I have an added overhead task of going through my history taking out things that don't matter.
I also am losing confidence in ChatGPT's work as I'm imagining it using incorrect memories to shape responses.
The workaround, I guess, is to use separate OpenAI login accounts for each project I'm working on, but that's a hassle, too.
Who knew the memory feature would create so many problems?
