Hi-ya!

Sorry about that, had to knock down that extra fourth-wall there. Those things are so annoying. Anywho, we are here to talk about… someone’s dad? Yep. You read that correctly. Get a load of this guy! He wears red and calls himself a superhero. So typical.

Who Is Dadpool?

TikTok sensation — totally not Ryan Reynolds — Dadpool began taking the internet by storm in 2022. When I asked about his particular experience navigating this complex structure, he said that the friendships he has made along the way are the greatest joy. Aside from being The Official Dadpool, of course. During the COVID-19 pandemic, TikTok saved the world from boredom, but we still needed a hero! I mean, who else is going to fight bad guys on social media while looking like a total bad-ass doing it?

Cosplay

If you have used the internet in the last ten years, then you know exactly what I am talking about. It is all the big shots wearing their egos on their foreheads. Either that or a mask. Speaking of masks, let’s discuss what is going on behind this one! Cosplay is simply the act of wearing a costume and maintaining character for the jest of others. Many do this with their own original characters. I have attended Comic-con myself, and the fun is real! There are few activities in life that will stir up a smile like seeing everyone living out their biggest dreams for a few hours.

Voice Acting

I don’t know about you, but I tend to choke up when I try to speak into a microphone. I do not know if it is the smell of cheese emanating from the last chum who had to give a presentation on content creation or if it is just me. Regardless, it is an art form! Being able to fill the shoes of more than one character usually only requires a little bit of makeup and possibly a hairstylist, but when you are stepping into the voice of a character, you best be prepared! There are many different methods used in the theatre of voice, but the greatest of casts will never share their secrets. Dadpool has a surprisingly familiar voice. I know that I will never be able to figure it out, though. If you guys can figure it out, be sure to leave a comment somewhere here or on social telling me where I know it from so that I can put it together in my mind. I am going mad here!

Parody

Crack open a can of mess and let the beans spill! You are in for a treat. I have seen some pretty outlandish characterizations during my time perusing the content on the web — that one guy with the flying time machine and the weird kid who kissed his mom, the one about the magician or something, and even a green frog who hates memes — that does not even touch this guy! The satire begins where the tape ends. Look out, because you never know what is going to be coming your way around this one!

Fandom

Much like any other superhero in tight pants with exaggerated powers, Dadpool has a huge fan base. I mean, if the Comic Book Guys were selling a book with his face on it, there would be a line out the door. Along with his stunning display of know-it-all nonsense, there are some other characters who really make the lines pop. Mompool and Kidpool are the next-in-line for kicking butt and taking names. Next time you think about ignoring your best friend’s birthday post on Facebook, just remember: Dadpool lives in the curtains, and he is not alone! When the trio are not busy wreaking havoc on LIVE, they share each other’s support in the whirl of trendy dance videos and funny animal pictures that is the internet.

Oh, yeah! One last thing before you go. Dadpool saw that post you made on your alt account yesterday. Don’t think that he didn’t. It would be unwise to forget it. Really though, for those who are seeking wisdom from the legend himself, he offered this one piece of advice:

Don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot do something!

Unless it is him, I think. I would not want to argue with that guy! He does not always seem to have his ducks in a row, if you catch my drift. He wears a lot of leather for it to be the 2020s. Just saying! If anyone who is not wearing a red leather suit tells you that you cannot do something, just say Dadpool three times fast. As always, I hope that this article has been entertaining for you. Thank you for reading!
