By skyforbes I just realised how different the ChatGPT pricing is between countries. In India, "ChatGPT Go" costs ₹399, which is about RM18.87. In Malaysia, we have to pay RM39 for the same thing. That’s almost double the price.
It doesn’t make sense because most Malaysians don’t earn that much more than people in India. The average income here is around RM2,500 to RM3,000 a month and the cost of living keeps going up. Paying RM39 every month for ChatGPT is not easy for many people, especially students or workers trying to make ends meet.
I’m not saying it should be free. I just think the price should be fair and reflect what people can actually afford in each country. India seems to get regional pricing that makes sense for their economy. I wish OpenAI would consider doing the same for Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries too. I just hope more people here can afford it without feeling like it’s a luxury.
