Do shorter attention spans kill the cinema industry?

i have a really interesting thought recently about why movies seem to be losing popularity, especially with Gen Z. Yes, things like ticket prices and streaming services do play a role, but I think the biggest factor are the short-form videos.

Constant exposure to a rapid fire entertainment like a 15-second clips on social media has trained our brains to expect a massive reward every few seconds. So a 2-hour movie now feels very long and slow.

Our tolerance for sustained focus and attention is becoming low nowadays and the lack of instant, frequent gratification that movies/books/any long form contents give, makes sitting in a dark cinema waiting for the climax feels like too much of an effort.
