do they downgrade the shit out of your account if you unsubscribe?

So I was subscribed to Plus for a few months. It was cool. I loved it. Then around September but they put the guardrails in a little bit too tight and it was tanking my tabletop roleplay sessions with it. And the overall quality seemed to be going down as well. I unsubscribed. It was barely usable.

It seemed like they tightened the shit out of ChatGPT because I would literally give three messages and it would throw up the warning. ("You've just been downagraded. Upgrade to get more messages.") I'm not giving hyperbole either. I'd send one message on a chat that had an attachment and it would throw up that warning and shut down the chat.

Cut to recently, I made a new account just to have it be under a new email and to start over. Everything is different. I chatted for HOURS yesterday with it never giving me a warning. The quality of the responses are stellar. Some of the best I've ever seen. I thought they had just done an update.

I still have the other account logged in on my phone. And it's the same exact shit. This morning, I asked it a few messages regarding a recipe. We're talking no more than five and it gave me that warning. Yesterday, I spent almost two hours working on a script with ChatGPT and it never downgraded its responses the entire time. Both of these accounts are not subscribed. (I'm ab out to though for the other one.) Why would there be just such a huge difference in quality and the amount of messages between the two accounts? ChatGPT cannot give any insight at all. The only thing I can think of is OpenAI is literally going out of their way to downgrade the shit out of your account to try to coerce you to sign back up again.
