Call of Duty has been on a yearly release schedule since like 2005 or so, and it doesn't look like it's ending anytime soon. Even with fans airing their displeasure with the recent Black Ops 7 campaign, the multiplayer still seems to be as popular as ever. I'm sure BO7 still sold a ton like past iterations have before it.
But, do you think we'll ever see a time where Activision takes a year off from releasing a new Call of Duty game? Or will they continue to ship out a new COD game every year? I suppose when sales are still going strong, there is no need to take a break at all. And with he many studios they have working on the series, I imagine they could keep this up for another 10-20 years or longer.
I think a break from the series could do it some good though, but I don't see Activision taking a break, especially now so with Microsoft owning them.
