It may be that I watched "Thelma" on the heel of a series of movies I found unenjoyable/depressing/unhopeful/unjoyful/miserable *, but THANK YOU to the random movie influencer on Instagram who recommended "Thelma"- a breath of fresh air.
"Thelma" reminded me that watching movies can be fun without being shlock, can be life-affirming, high-quality, joyful, hopeful- all the things! And you don't have to put yourself through two hours of relentless misery to have a high-quality viewing experience.
"Thelma" was just so, so good- everything about it, the acting, the dialogue, the action- no complaints, no criticism. Please everyone watch it so film-makers become encouraged to make more of these kind of fun yet deep, quality movies!
