I managed to pull the older WhatsApp .msix package from my other PC (the one that didn’t get the new web-wrapper update).
If you want the old native app back, just uninstall the new one and install this .msix file. Works perfectly for me as of now.

Note: No idea how long Meta will allow this version to keep working, so use it while you can.
Tip: Open Microsoft Store → Settings → Turn off automatic app updates.
This prevents WhatsApp from updating itself back to the new web version.
